Step 1- Login in your wordpress Admin Panel ( sitename.com/wp-admin )
Step 2- Go in Settings and Click on permalink settings .
Step 3- Choose Custom option in your permalink settings.
Step 4- Now use this in custom option %postname%.html
Step -5 Now save your permalink Settings .
Now each time you will publish post it will show like this site.com/post-name.html
Personally I use %postname% only even Matt Cutts also use same.
It will not change the url structure of your wordpress pages , it works for posts only.
Your old post will show 404 error page . So better try on new blogs only or try on own risk . Either you can set redirection code in your .htaccess file to redirect all your non .html posts to .html posts.
Below is Video for same settings watch it and try it :-
